Most referrals never turn into meetings. Why does this happen?

I noticed that while referrals are supposed to be the highest-converting channel, they often stall. People want to help, but the intro ends up vague, awkward, or never sent at all. Curious how others have solved this, especially at the early stage when every warm intro matters.

In my experience, the awkward part isn’t the willingness to help, it’s the mechanics. People don’t know how to describe what you do, who to introduce you to, or how to make the intro smooth. Curious if others have seen the same.

I recommend that you read this book: Generating Business Referrals Without Asking: A Simple 5 Step Plan to a Referral Explosion

Thanks for the recommendation! I haven’t read that one yet. Do you feel the ideas translate well to B2B/consulting, or more toward service businesses?
