I love these videos so much. I'm a mechanical engineer who designs these kinds of things all day, and these have been a great inspiration for me for many years.
Pretty proud to recognize the “propane and propane accessories” reference, especially given I had mostly heard it in a translated and slightly different version.
I remember finding lcamtuf way back in the day because of that cheap robot guide he had. He lured me in with that, and got me interested in linux (and security) which I struggle with to this day.
(Unfortunately it seems like he has taken robot.txt down, and his site is excluded from the archive.)
Great episode. lcamtuf's blog[0] is one that every engineer should follow. Though if you're reading this comment you probably already do :)

I clicked on this just because of the name reference to the most glorious show of my childhood, the secret life of machines: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtaR0lZhSyAPLuoSbMA29s3Ry...

If you look at that YouTube channel, Tim hunkin is still making content in 2026!
Enjoyable episode. Check out his linkedin profile for some fun Easter eggs, I got a laugh.
Lots of people named like him, so worth noting that his profile is at https://www.linkedin.com/in/lcamtuf/
