I look forward to seeing a lifehacking hyper-optimizer streamline this to a polished daily workflow...

"I have a bucket of mud, in which I stick my hands for 15 minutes every morning. Every weekend, I inoculate at a 1:5:5 ratio with biologically active stream dirt (after petri-dishing to check for activity), and a mix of poor-quality soil cover, and some compost; I finish by adding a 10-10-10 balanced fertilizer."

Dirt is good to prevent you from getting sick easily.

> I take a long walk in my nearest park every day,

> By the end of each day they are covered head to toe in mud.

Author of this article lives in a big major europen city. It is fair to assume that "nearest park" serves as a toilet for entire neighborhood. Soil there is contaminated with parasites, excrements and toxic waste!

Children who play there will develop all sorts of mysterious allergies, skin rash conditions, asthma and so on! There are well documented cases that developed into limb amputations!

You should not assume nearest patch of grass is safe for children! Take them to real nature, where grass is not used as a toilet by city folks!!!

I knew the germphobes would be all over this one.

    > Children who play there willmdevelop all sorts of misterious allergies, skin rash conditions, asthma and so on!

No they won't you hysterical boob. Youre fear of germs is irrational. Get a grip

I am not poop lover, some city folks are poop lovers.

I wrote to go into nature, without poop. It has nothing to do with regular germs!

      > Take them to real nature, where grass is not used as a toilet by city folks

Just becauee you follow basic hygiene, and cook your food, and shit into toilet (not street), does not make you "germofoob"

I hate to break it to you but wild animals poop too

I do not see deer shitting on the same spot, every ten minutes.

        > it has nothing to do with regular germs!

You're severely misunderstanding how germs and infections work. But germphobes have the phobia as a response to stress, its never a logical position they take.

You're feelings rule your intellect on this one I'm afraid, that's a textbook definition of irrationally

Lol no but you are not rational my friend and definitely in germophobe group :) And no amount of exclamation marks will change that, in contrary.

I think you need to re-visit some basic science about bacteria, human immunity and general advices on how to raise children with regard to those topics. If you don't, you will harm your children in pretty bad ways

What do you think soil is made of? Where do you think it comes from?

    • throw93947309 8 minutes ago

Soil is made from dead plants and properly decomposed stuff, not fresh excrements that are classified as "toxic waste" by city code.

Kids benefit from being kids and rolling around in the grass.

In which cities are people favouring local parks over toilets?

Parasites can actually help with allergies. I am loosely aware of various attempts at treating allergies using parasites.

One of the approaches taken (under medical supervision) for kids with bad nut allergies is to gradually expose them to more of the allergen. Being able to survive a peanut or two without anaphylaxis is life-changing.

This is like the dumbest take ever, do you think people go and take a shit on the park in big European cities?

I live in Berlin and compared to most other European cities it’s a shit hole, but one thing I can tell you is the cleanliness and green nature of the public parks. Most of the time people actually care about the public parks (with exception of few)

However, one thing to worry about is the tick bites or any other insect bites, but that’s part of the nature
